Synergy Analysis and Consulting

Taylor Companies uses its comprehensive and unique understanding of synergy to determine the magnitude of synergy possible for every deal being considered. We offer two types of synergy analysis: general and transaction-specific.

Transaction-Specific Analysis

We implement our transaction-specific synergy analysis to:

  • Prioritize the client’s list of targets.
  • Determine whether the client should pursue the deal.
  • Perform strategic due diligence.
  • Ensure clients bid properly and do not overpay.

Once the list of targets has been identified by either Taylor or the client, we will prioritize the targets and examine the synergies to determine whether the client should pursue the deal. We ensure full recognition and valuation of possible synergies by continuously vetting the strategic rationale so the client can bid competitively without overpaying. Taylor’s process optimizes the chances that, once acquired, a business will be a positive contributor and value generator for our client.

General Synergy Analysis

We utilize our general synergy analysis to:

  • Determine whether the client should build or sell a business.
  • Identify the targets with the most synergy.
  • Improve the client’s acquisition success rate.

Our deep understanding of synergy allows us to do a general and thorough strategic analysis to help clients determine whether they should commit to selling a business or building it through acquisitions. Once a determination is made, we use our synergy expertise to identify either the best buyers or the most strategic acquisition targets.

In order to vet a client’s acquisition strategy, we identify the categories of synergy that will generate the highest value. Once a corresponding acquisition is made, we can help oversee the implementation and integration of the synergies, if desired, so our clients meet all strategic goals of the transaction.

In divestitures, we identify and provide a comprehensive analysis of the synergies available within the business being divested. Subsequently, we create theoretical profiles of the most ideal buyers to pinpoint the full range of strategic acquirers including key companies sometimes overlooked in a traditional divestiture approach.
